How We Move a Piano
A grand comes apart in a specific order: lid and lyre off, legs removed, the case eased onto a padded piano board and strapped, then rolled and lifted as one controlled unit. An upright is wrapped, dollied, and walked with two or more movers and a plan for every threshold and stair. We measure doorways, turns, and the driveway grade first, because the failure point is almost always a tight turn nobody scoped. At the new home, we reverse it carefully and set the instrument where you want it. We do not tune — we recommend giving any piano a couple of weeks to settle before a tuner comes — but we deliver it intact and level.
Antiques and Fine Art on the East End
The same crew handles the antiques and art these homes are full of. Marble tops travel braced flat in custom crates, never on edge. Oil paintings get art crates with floating interiors. Chandeliers come down arm by arm and ride boxed. Antique case pieces are blanket-wrapped and corner-protected, with drawers secured. Because so much of this rides down a long seasonal route to Florida or sits a winter in storage, we crate to survive the trip, not just the curb.
