Are you a moving company, or a site that hands my move off to someone else?
We are the moving company. Our trucks, our W-2 white-glove crew, our storage, and our own NYSDOT, US DOT, and MC authority — Max or a crew chief is on every job. We are not a broker, a local moving company, or a lead aggregator, and we don't pass your move to a 'vetted carrier.' You hire us, and we do the move.
Do you handle the gated-community or HOA Certificate of Insurance?
Yes — it's the first thing we do. Eleanor on our COI desk contacts your association or estate management, pulls the exact coverage limits and additional-insured language they require, and gets the Certificate of Insurance approved before move day. Some East End associations take a full week to sign off, so book early and the gate clears clean.
How do you price a move?
One flat figure, locked in writing before we touch a thing. No hourly meter creeping up while the crew walks back and forth, and no surprise line items at the curb. For most homes we quote from the details you send; for the larger estate jobs, Max walks the property first so the crate count and the long-driveway access are right.
How is my shipment insured, and what does valuation cover?
Every interstate move includes Released Value Protection at no charge, which covers 60 cents per pound per item — the federal standard. Most estate clients upgrade to Full Value Protection, which typically runs about 1 to 3 percent of the declared value of the shipment and makes us responsible for repair, replacement, or cash settlement. We carry $1 million in cargo liability, and you have roughly a nine-month window to file a claim.
Do you store furniture and art off-season?
Yes. We hold second-home furnishings, art, and antiques in climate-controlled, insured storage from the off-season exodus until the season turns. Hadley coordinates the in-date and the out-date around your closing or your return, so the furniture is back in the house before you are.
Can you move oil paintings, antiques, a piano, and a wine collection?
That's our specialty. Walter builds custom wood crates on site for oil paintings, marble tops, chandeliers, mirrors, and wine, and pianos travel on padded boards in their own crate. Everything fragile is wrapped, inventoried, and carried by our own crew down the longest gravel driveway without a scratch.
How far ahead should I book a summer move?
As far ahead as you can. The Memorial-Day-to-Labor-Day stretch is when every share house and second home turns over at once, and the calendar fills fast. If your gate needs a COI — which can take an association a week — that's another reason to lock your date early rather than scramble against the seasonal rush.
How and when do I pay?
You'll have the flat written figure before move day, and payment is due on completion of the move once everything's placed and accounted for. We accept the usual methods, and because the price is locked in writing, there's nothing to re-tally at the curb.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel?
Plans shift, especially around closings and the season. Give us reasonable notice and we'll move your date at no penalty when the calendar allows. During the peak summer weeks slots are tight, so the more notice you can give, the better we can re-slot you without losing your spot.
Do you move the whole East End, or just Southampton?
The whole East End — Southampton, Bridgehampton, Water Mill, Sagaponack, East Hampton, Wainscott, Amagansett, Montauk, Sag Harbor, Noyac, Quogue, Westhampton, Hampton Bays, North Sea, and Shinnecock Hills — plus seasonal and long-distance lanes off the Hamptons to the city, Boston, Washington, and Palm Beach.
