Moving in Shinnecock Hills
Shinnecock Hills sits just west of Southampton Village, the rolling stretch of high ground between Shinnecock Bay and the Peconic, framed by the famous golf links and the campus near the canal. It is a mix of established homes on the hills with bay and water views, the housing around the colleges and the golf clubs, and the bayfront and canal-adjacent properties to the west near the Shinnecock Canal. The moves here range from year-round family homes to second homes and seasonal rentals.
The hills themselves shape the moves: the lanes climb and curve, the driveways often run up a grade to a house with a view, and a few of the bayfront and golf-community properties carry association rules. We scout the approach, bring the truck that can handle the grade and the lane, and stage the carry so a truck never blocks a narrow road. Closer to the canal, we factor in the summer bottleneck where Montauk Highway pinches down and the canal bridge backs up.
COIs and Golf-Community Access
Some of the golf-club and bayfront-association homes require a Certificate of Insurance before move day, and our office clears it in advance so the crew rolls straight in. We coordinate gate sign-ins and timing the same way we do across the East End.
Crating, Storage, and Turnover
We crate the fragile pieces and inventory in writing, handle the fast turnover on seasonal rentals, and offer loading help by the hour for owners who only need the muscle. For second homes that close after the season, we move the contents into climate-controlled storage and bring them back in spring.
One flat written rate and a crew that knows the hills, the canal, and the links.
