Moving in the Village of Quogue
Quogue is small, old-money, and deliberately quiet — an incorporated village with its own strict rules, set between Montauk Highway and the ocean across the bay. The homes are a mix of stately traditional and shingle-style houses on the village lanes, waterfront properties along Dune Road and the bay, and the wooded estates set back on Quogue Street and the surrounding lanes. It is a place that values discretion, and our crews work accordingly: clean, careful, and low-key.
The waterfront and Dune Road side of Quogue brings the same barrier-island constraints as neighboring Westhampton — single-lane stretches, bridge limits, elevated houses on pilings, and salt air off the Atlantic. We bring shorter trucks for the beach side, carry up and down the long exterior staircases carefully, and keep an eye on tide and weather. On the village side, the lanes are narrow and tree-lined and the houses are often older, so we measure doorways, protect floors, and stage the truck to avoid blocking a one-lane street.
COIs and Discretion
Several waterfront associations and gated properties in and around Quogue require a Certificate of Insurance before move day, and our office clears it in advance. The village itself can be particular about commercial vehicles and timing, and we plan around that so a move goes smoothly and quietly.
Crating and Off-Season Storage
Quogue homes hold antiques, art, and the fine furnishings that come with established families, and we crate the fragile pieces, inventory in writing, and move them ourselves. For the many second homes here, we move the contents into climate-controlled storage after the season and bring them back in spring.
